So, it has been quite difficult the past week or so. I’m so used to being hands on chiropractor in Eastbourne, and I enjoy it so much, that it is difficult only being able to give advice. It is also difficult trying to occupy my time as I’m a person who likes to do things. I think this is why I chose to be a chiropractor; I love helping people, but I also like doing things with my hands. This week what we’ve done is written a list of all the things we want to do. It will be so easy to get into a rut of getting up late and not getting much done so with a list it means that we can still achieve things.
What have we been up to
As well as obviously being available for those who need us for advice and exercises, we have been trying to retain some sense of normality. I’m sure along with a lot of you, we want to try to do the things that we do week in week out in an alternative way. For example, we have been doing karate through the app zoom. This allows us to do our karate whilst also seeing other people do theirs’ while our sensei (teacher) leads the class. This has been unusual but a useful way to keep up our practice. I hope you all have also found alternative ways to keep up your regular activities.
We’ve also tried to take the opportunity to do some baking, but this has been difficult at times due to not being able to find the ingredients we needed. We did manage to find the ingredients that we wanted for a blueberry baked cheesecake and, to make sure that we didn’t eat it all ourselves, we dropped some off to friends’ houses. The unfortunate thing is that our oven appears to be on the blink, what a time for that to happen.
We’ve also been making sure that we get out for our daily exercise and enjoy some of the sun we have been having, it was a bit frosty this morning though. We are so lucky here in Eastbourne that we have the seafront, the Downs and the surrounding countryside to explore at this time.
I hope you’ve all been keeping yourself busy and keeping up with your exercises and of course watching your posture. If you have been working from home on a laptop check out my colleague James’s blog on workplace ergonomics here.
Yours in health,
Mykel your Eastbourne chiropractor
