Eastbourne Chiropractor – My lockdown activities
Wow, can you believe that we’ve already had over 3 weeks of lockdown! What have you been doing to fill the time and keep yourselves busy during lockdown?
The first thing I think is important is what am I grateful for? Well I am grateful that I have a roof over my head and have been in good health so far. The fact that I have a balcony and have been lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine, makes me feel very grateful. I am also grateful that I am in lockdown with a few people, which is keeping me entertained. I think that some of you are on your own and I hope that you are all ok.

My day usually starts with a yoga routine. I have been managing to do this each day and it is great to develop a good habit. I am not particularly good at it but am hopefully improving each day.
It has been nice to spend some time with my daughter. We have had games nights, playing cards and scrabble. I have learnt how to play rummy, and have really enjoyed this. We are going to have a poker night soon too! I have a basic understanding of this game and will try to teach the others.

We have been eating well. My friend is vegetarian and is teaching me some great Indian recipes. We have also had a few meaty nights and a great Sunday roast.
We have all had turns to bake and have eaten some delicious gluten free brownies, a moist chocolate cake, a lovely apple cake and my daughter was very proud of the lemon meringue pie she made from scratch. We are trying not to bake too much though as don’t want to roll out of here in a few weeks.

Most days, we have been trying to go for a walk to stay active.
One day we took a walk through Brighton town and it was so bizarre to see it so empty.

We have gone for beach walks and a few walks in the local parks and on the Southdowns.
We even managed a late night walk and bathed our faces in the full moon rays.

Zoom parties, watsap group chats and messenger chats have kept us in touch with our friends, slightly strange socialising over a computer, but fun nevertheless. Last night we played a pub quiz. We didn’t win but came pretty close. One of the questions was: What other countries in Europe also drive on the left side of the road? What are your answers?
I have started a sewing project. It is great to have the time to do this as I have wanted to do it for ages. I am not particularly good at sewing so it is quite challenging. First of all trying to cut a pattern off another garment, which is harder than it seems. My style of sewing involves me constantly trying the garment on. It is starting to come together now…it is going to be a super bling, over the top, gold festival hoody. It is definitely keeping me entertained.
We also made ourselves laugh by going out for a walk in silly dresses. Got to keep smiling and having a giggle when you can!

So that is what I have been up to. Have a look what Louise is up to.
I hope all of you are managing to enjoy yourselves, slow down, take stock and reassess what is important to you.
Remember, if you are struggling with any flare ups, please call us.
Take care! Karen
